They wanna be in pictures
With a new album due in December and her serotonin levels stabilized, Britney Spears is feeling great. Why, an anonymous source even says Britney “is in a good place right now,” and how often can we say that about her? She’s feeling so great, in fact, she wants to get back into movies. But she’s thinking more a documentary of her upcoming tour than “Crossroads 2: The Re-Crossening.”
Which is good, because now she won’t have to worry about being turned down for the part of Britney Spears in the movie version of her mom’s memoir, “Through the Storm.” Lynn Spears apparently thinks the chronicle of her harrowing parenting through Britney’s troubles with sex, drugs and Mouseketeering would be a box office smash.
Says a completely different anonymous source: “She’s pitching the book around to studios. She even says she wants Julia Roberts to play her. It’s insane!” Hey, the source said it, not us. And who would get the coveted role of bread-winning teen strumpet? Apparently “The House Bunny” star Anna Faris, who deserves better than to be even linked to this mess.
Britney, naturally, is furious. Wouldn’t you be? She totally should’ve put a first-look clause in her mother/daughter contract.
Celeb divorce roundup
By now, news of the Madonna/Guy Ritchie split has hit Malawi, but Madonna’s not the only star throwing in the marital towel. She’s just the only one on tour right now.
Also up for a good lawyering is “Californication” star David Duchovny, who has confirmed that he and wife Téa Leoni have been separated “for several months.” He could’ve just said they’ve been separated “since right around the time I checked into rehab for sex addiction.” Just sayin’.
And finally, Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley has lashed back at the National Enquirer, refuting claims that he and wife Avril Lavigne are headed for a divorce. The tiny, spiky-haired Canadian said in a statement, “Since when did the National Enquirer become a trustworthy news source?” To which we say: when they were right about the whole John Edwards having an affair thing. Try and keep up, OK?
When you think food, you think the Beckhams
And here’s a pair of news stories to loosely tie together: David Beckham has endorsed a line of healthy frozen dinners in England. And his wife, Victoria Beckham, will team up with celeb chef Gordon Ramsay for an episode of “Cookalong Live,” a British cooking show.
There’s no word on whether or not this will lead to divorce for the Beckhams, but with so many other rumors floating around, let’s just go ahead and start our own now, shall we? Here you go: Posh seen cavorting with foul-mouthed Ramsay! Becks finds solace in frozen fish sticks! And…go.
